 It offers unique walking and canoeing safaris, excellent birdwatching (400+ species), and high chances of spotting black-and-white colobus monkeys and giraffes, often used as a Mount Kilimanjaro acclimatization spot. 

Features

Stunning view of Tanzania’s second-highest mountain (park is often used to prepare for Kilimanjaro).A small, steep-sided crater with a marshy floor, often referred to as a miniature Ngorongoro Crater. Seven shallow alkaline lakes, varying in algae colors, which attract thousands of flamingos and waterbucks. Also offers canoeing opportunities. Abundant giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, warthogs, and the rare black-and-white colobus monkey. While there are no lions, leopards roam the forests, and elephants are present but elusive.

Best Time To Visit

June to October for walking and climbing; November to April for birdwatching, as thousands of migratory birds arrive.It serves as an accessible, multi-faceted "mini-safari" experience that can be completed in a half or full-day trip.
