Wildlife

Serengeti National Park

As a UNESCO World Heritage site and "endless plain," it offers premier year-round safari experiences, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo)

Features

  • The Great Migration: Over 1.5 million wildebeest, along with zebras and gazelles, travel in a massive annual cycle, facing crocodile-infested rivers like the Grumeti and Mara.

  • Location & Access: Situated in northern Tanzania, it connects to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area in the south and borders Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve to the north.

Activities

The ecosystem features vast grasslands, acacia woodlands, and rocky outcrops called kopjes, which are popular with lions. It hosts roughly 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, and 550 cheetahs.

Best Time To Visit

June to October is the dry season, optimal for viewing wildlife, particularly the migration's river crossings.
